Blocktrust Smart Contract to Back Groundbreaking Ringo Starr NFT Art Collection

Los Angeles, California, June 2, 2022 — BlockTrust is pleased to announced that it has developed a smart contract to back the first ever NFT digital art collection of music icon and legendary drummer Ringo Starr. With this exclusive auction, Starr is set to become the first member of the Beatles to drum up support from the metaverse.

Smart contracts are self-executing contracts that allow seamless and secure transactions to run without the need for operational overheads within a decentralized blockchain network such as Ethereum where the live bids will be based.

Commenting on the groundbreaking NFT auction, Michael Alexander, Co-founder of BlockTrust, said:

“There has been a surge in NFT activity within the metaverse, and we’re more than excited to help bring someone as acclaimed as Ringo Starr of the Beatles into this decentralized space. As creative output rapidly evolves into digitzed content, the inclusion of trailblaizers like Mr. Starr could accelerate the already-flourishing interest in minting digital assets.”

“The demand of investors co-evolves with the expanding crypto marketplace. Well-developed smart contract technologies will play an even more vital role in ensuring that blockchain transactions are executed properly.”

By leveraging a BlockTrust-developed smart contract, artists can navigate ownership around digital property such as NFTs with confident and ease. “It’s really important to have a platform to display your art and to be in control of how it is shared and appreciated,” Starr explained.

“Artists and investors both desire high levels of security and auditability within the NFT marketplace. Thanks to their finesse in developing and deploying smart contract technologies, Blocktrust continues to be the go-to partner for high-profile clients (such as Sir Ringo Starr) making their debut into the NFT space,” added Aly Madhavji, Managing Partner at Blockchain Founders Fund.

The NFT art collection entitled The Creative Mind of a Beatle features five pieces developed by the multi-hyphenated Englishman – each piece accompanied by an original drum recording composed and performed by Starr himself. Each NFT artwork will hold a starting bid of $1,000 and will be minted in a limited edition of fours, comprising a total of 20 NFTs in the blockchain collection.

“This new technology is so far out it's inspired me and I loved creating these NFTs combining my art and my music. Who'd have thought I would be spreading peace and love in the metaverse,” said Starr.

The online auction for Starr’s collection will begin Monday June 13th (11:00 AM PST), accessible via Julien’s Auction. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Lotus Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to support social welfare and various health programs globally.
